7 Newborn Items You Can't Live Without

Everyone has a list of their favorite baby items — and there are about a million things out there. Trust me, I’ve researched it all. You probably have too, or you’re too overwhelmed to even begin. Again, trust me, I’ve felt that too.

Well, here are seven baby items we use with our son Luke that we legitimately wouldn’t be able to survive without. We highly, highly recommend these items, and they span across all of the important areas — sleeping, eating, playing, and hygiene.

SLEEP

Nested Bean Swaddle - we were using an average swaddle at first (I don’t remember the brand), but he was tossing and turning all night. We switched to the Nested Bean swaddle, and the first night he gave us a 3+ hour stretch (as a newborn, this is huge)! It was amazing and we totally noticed a difference.

Nested Bean Sleep Sack - same with the sleep sack. The weight on the chest of the sleep sack definitely mimics a calming hand, and we noticed he slept way better. Nested bean is an amazing company!

EAT

Burt's Bees Burp Cloths - seriously, get 20 of these (or more). You’ll need them.

PLAY

BabyBjorn Bouncer - Luke sits in this chair for hours and hours a day (collectively, not consecutively, of course). The toy bar keeps them entertained, too! It’s also wicked easy to clean and travels well.

HYGIENE

FridaBaby Snot Sucker - this was clutch for Luke as a newborn. When babies are little, their airways get clogged easily, so to suck all that stuff out quickly was a game changer. I know it seems gross, but I promise you, it’s not (the snot obviously catches in the tube and doesn’t go into your mouth. Now THAT would be gross).

Electronic Nail File - honestly, I’m not sure how people cut their little one’s nails without this. Having an electronic file to file down their nails is so much easier than filing manually, and TEN times easier than cutting their nails with tiny clippers. It’s hard to cut nails that small! Definitely worth getting this.

ACCESSORIES
Aveeno Baby Wipes - have these in your diaper bag, your nursery, your living room, at your in-laws - anywhere you are, have these on hand. They’re great for spit ups, food messes, wiping them down if they touch a bunch of stuff or other people, etc.

Enjoy time with your baby, and be well prepared while doing so. I hope these items make a difference in your lives like they have for ours!
